The Alpine Meadow on Mt. Washington
June 2004

Among the many alpine plants we observed on Mt. Washington on June 13, the following were in bloom:

                                                                Diapensia lapponica, commonly called Diapensia



                            Houstonia caerulea L. var. faxonorum,  commonly called Alpine Bluets
                                        The large leaf among the Bluets is Geum peckii (mountain avens).

                                               

                                                           

                                                     Loiseleuria procumbens, alpine azalea
